GED Preparation

Welcome

Here at Alpine Adult Education we are devoted to helping you achieve your goals. If you want to pursue a High School Completion Diploma (GED) we’ve got the tools and curriculum to get you there quickly. Here at Alpine Adult Education we have classes in English and Math as well as paper packets that you can take home and do. We pride ourselves in our ability to help you get to where you need in an effective manner. With packets and classes focused solely on the areas that you need to improve on, and great one on one tutoring, we will help you achieve your GED and prepare you for the future endeavors ahead.

Step-by-Step

Come in and register with our program (Please bring a valid Utah ID. Examples: Driver’s License, letter addressed to you, or transcripts.)

Take an assessment test called the TABE. This takes about 1 ½ hours and will evaluate your levels in Reading, Math, and Language so that we can best help you.

Meet with a counselor or tutor to help plan out your GED goals, plans, and to get you started on packets.

More Helpful Information

We do not proctor the actual GED test. The closest testing center to most people in the area is at UVU. Because the cost of the GED is substantial, we are dedicated in helping making sure you pass the GED the first time. Along with GED prep through classes, packets, and tutoring, we also offer GED practice tests for free once you are prepared and ready to take the GED. The usual costs for these is $6 dollars.

There are four sections on the GED—Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Each tests length varies from section to section (2-3+ hours per section). If you have test anxiety in any form or haven’t taken a test in a while, we have counselors and teaching assistants prepared to help you with the test.

For more information about the GED you can visit their website at www.ged.com or come on in and meet with one of our great employees!
